Z House

The Z house has been one of the greatest experiences of Paya Design Studio.

This project is very unique and we had an opportunity to deliver this as a design-built project. Anything from its Montecito Height location, which is in a very sought after locations in LA area, the triangle shape of the property, and sweeping view of the downtown Los Angeles cityscape add to its uniqueness. This magnificent architectural design brings an unprecedented experience of form, function and view in 3,000 SQ.FT. home.

Reynold

Inspired by the design of timeless Italian hill towns, this pair of homes nestle into one of the picturesque hillsides of Happy Valley. Rising up a three stories plus a roof deck on the north, they take maximum advantage of dramatic city views from both Living and Master spaces through full-height glass doors opening onto a series of balconies on each floor. At the rear of the house, large south-facing terraces merge into the landscape on the upper floors, creating private urban gardens that catch the sun. From there, spiral stairways lead to roof decks extending across the entire house, with 360 degree views. The roofs are designed and fully equipped for an array of solar panels to further increase the energy efficiency of these unique and elegant hillside homes.

This double house is located on the top of the East Los Angeles mountains. The exclusive location of this property give us a chance to take advantage of the panoramic view of the Hollywood sign, Griffith observatory and downtown LA.

The design of the houses has followed topography to minimize the grading impact for very narrow lots with 25 feet width. These slim houses have ten feet clear height in each level and plenty of opening and decks around. Square footage for each unit is about 1,500.

Chastworth Warehouse
